The HISS of the ASP

More than five million Americans are "Anomalously Sensitive Persons (ASPs)". An Anomalously Sensitive Person exhibits uncommonly high levels of sensitivity, not only in the emotional realm, but also in the physiological, cognitive, altered states of consciousness and transpersonal ("metaphysical," "paranormal," or "psychic") realms as well. These characteristics are essentially the same characteristics that identify those who, in New Age parlance, are spoken of as "Star Children," "Crystal Children," "Indigo Children," or "Walk Ins." Whatever the label might be, the book "The H.I.S.S. of the A.S.P." is a tribute to these highly sensitive persons.

More here on the book's website.

Additionally there's a survey here (PDF file). They want 15 dollars for scoring but you can pretty much figure out how it scores without giving anybody any money. For all practical purposes, it could be a generic "you might be otherkin if..." sort of survey, although I've never seen dyslexia described as a factor.

For full clarification (since I know it'll come up): I'm not saying everyone the test identifies as an ASP is otherkin. Nor am I saying every otherkin should identify as an ASP on that test (I'm pretty sure I wouldn't qualify as such, although I match a few factors). The parallels are pretty clear and interesting, but correlation isn't causation.
